I`m currently deciding whether to sell my Tempra complete or break it up for parts.
Untill a 18 months ago it was mint inside & out & had done around 76,000 miles, my parents had had it from new, then when they gave it to me I lent it to a friend who wasnt in great health.
Unfortunately he passed away a few months ago. When I saw the state of the car I was shocked.
I`m now pretty depressed about it....
The good:
Still starts & runs perfectly well
Most of the electric bits & bobs seem to be working fine (although the speedo/milometer sometimes displays KM when you start it)
Has MOT
Will happily go wherever you want to take it, I`d have every confidence in driving it across the world mechanically.
Has had a K&N panel filter fitted & has been regularly serviced from new (now due for another)
Has a detatchable Witter tow bar (with twin electrics) that was used to tow a caravan 3 times when it was nearly new & a small trailer a few times since then, plus a bike 2 years ago (see picture taken in May 2009).
Pioneer CD player & a Cobra alarm with remote locking.
The bad:
The brakes are weak & pulling heavily due to it being sat for 6 months
Rear wheel bearing noisy
Clutch heavy & has short travel (not slipping though)
Windscreens cracked along the bottom & is scratched on the OS thanks to the wipers being used after a kind soul broke the blades (new genuine replacement refills fitted, but screen still scratched & cracked).
OSR door damaged (I have a replacement)
OSR wing has paint damage
Tailgate is cracked along the bottom edge
Someones reversed into the front when its been parked. breaking off the headlight washers & pushing the NS in by an inch
small dent on the NSF wing a few inches below the side repeater
Downpipe is damaged after he slid off the road into a ditch during the snow, the Lambda wiring is damaged & a couple of the rubber mounts came off the system.
Interior (blue velour) is dirty in places & theres two or three 1-2cm cuts in the seats, a couple of the door cards are distorted & the rear headrests are missing.
Its perfectly restorable or usable with the brakes, exhaust, & screen sorted (I know of a screen going for £25), but I don't have time to do it & I don't feel like I could face it for sentimental reasons.
We cant find the MOT certificate, it was till September/October (I can still re-tax it online for you at your cost)
I want £400 ono as is or £300 if I keep the alloys & stereo.
Alternatively let me know if you want parts, as I say, mechanically its fine, so it would be good donor for a Tipo Bravo Brava Punto Barchetta Uno twin cam or even Morris Minor conversion (same engine as 8v non-turbo Coupe & Lancia Dedra Thema etc) & has rear disk set up that will fit most of the above cars too.
I will swap for a Panda, Uno or a Tipo 1.4 or similar (for me) or an Astra 1.4 estate/van, Escort 1.3 or 1.4 estate/van or a Honda Civic 1.5 estate or similar (sub 1.5 manual petrol estate for a mate who`s looking
