Hey man, I remembered earlier that I said I'd uploaded a picture of a mean race Cherry to another website but it was down so I couldn't link it, well... the site's back up and here she is. It was by far the best car in it's class, it absolutely destroyed the competition which consisted of several Classic Fords including an RS MkI and a couple of Lotus Cortina's as well as a few other's that weren't worth remembering. On practise day it came out last almost half a lap down on everyone and got second. On race day it almost lapped everyone. ;D

I have a picture of the front of it, it's just not on that website, if your keen on getting the full sized images without the 'classiczcars.com' bit on them then just PM me your email address and I'll fire them over. No problems.

Any idea what the spec of that Cherry is? I'm guessing it still runs an A series engine. This is the one that use to be red, yes? From NZ?

nice. really nice. Those wheels and arches really set it off. Sits just right. These were never really raced or tuned as much as the earlier KE10. Shame really.
Typically I have just got rid of my F10 120A! Still I have plans for the others.....
Am I right in thinking that tis type of Cherry was the first to be sold in NZ & OZ? I know a few of the E10's made it over there via personal import.....

The E10 was somewhat outdated when it was launched in 1970 so by the time the F10 came along still using E10 running gear I doubt it was all that competitive. The F10 was also a lot bigger than an E10 (755kg vs 680kg). I have seen evidence of them being rallied and circuit raced but not all that successfully.
I don't think Australia got the F10 at all, only NZ. I know they did get the N10 as a Pulsar.

I couldn't tell you it's origins to be honest, only that it's apparently running a 1500 of some kind, the bonnet was never open for me to have a look unfortunately. As far as I know it isn't from down here where I live it was just down for the 'Festival of Speed' races.

I never really had much of an interest in Cherry's til I saw this one, well.. that's not strictly true, there's a couple of really nice good condition ones around but this one was just fantastic to watch racing
