So there I was, happily "testing" the freshly oiled K&N and ensuring the rocker cover gasket was sorted, pootling along the A606 Oakham to Stamford road, as I do daily, when BANG. Bird strike, straight through my already cracked screen and into my MOBILE PHONE! Destroying both. V V scary, also, now £93 lighter thanks to the RAC windscreen fella. Still getting little bits of glass through the heater At least the car looks better now.

Don't forget that a bird in the car is worth more than one on the bush............!
We had a pigeon go through our Escort screen about two years ago whilst doing 90 down the M4 (we had a large stone chip / crack up the middle of the screen already) It didn't all go straight through just the head / neck! Looked rather cool with a pigeon stuck in the screen!

I like long walks, especially when they're taken by people I don't like.

Pigeon. I had a crack there, it was a Y shape and the bird hit the V part. Was doing, well lets say too much found a head on my phone, and the wing and some other un id'd bits on the passenger seat. Very messy.

No HW, happened at the weekend, but I've not been online since, I hardly get on these days with the van on my drive and the Bug in a rented lockup.
Time is of the essence since I left the barn with my mates, it got too expensive there so I threw in the towl and decided to go solo.

Hit a pheasant with the corner of my screen/winscreen pillar doing 90ish down a lovely road in my old Mk2 Golf Gti near here a while back. never even saw it, just heard an almighty bang and the damn bird completely vapourised. All I could see in the rear mirrow was a red misty cloud and a few feathers.
Lucky the front pillar took the energy!
Amusing though! ;D ;D

I was in a lorry once, as a kid, and had a kestrel or a hawk or something fly through the passenger side window, into the cab, missed the ol' man, who was driving, by about an two inches, and flew through the open passenger side window and out. Lucky but bloody frightening, they can make one hell of a mess when they miss they window and start bouncing around the cab. Another thing I hate is when a pigeon hits the front of your motor and breaks your headlights, or worse still, breaks the radiator.

...and this was wierd.
When I used to live in Cape Town I was driving my lovely cacky brown Colt Celeste (oooh baaad car) down the main highway when I thought I saw some smoke ahead. Turned out to be a giant swarm of bees, two thousand of which impacted on the front screen while another thousand came in through the open drivers window. Didn't get a single sting, though the heater/air vents kept spitting out bees for weeks afterwards!!

Navigating on a Road Rally once, about ten years ago in a Mk2 Scirocco with a sump guard... Came round a bend on a twisty back B-Road to see a Badger in the middle of the road... We were doing quite a speed, and trying to make up time cos we were running late... The badger surprised the driver, who faced with the choice of hitting the stone wall, going through the hedge into an unknown field or hitting the badger, decided that damage to the car would be minimal if we hit the Badger... There really wasn't time to stop...
*thud*
Thankfully, we killed it dead rather than terminally injured it. The smell of burning flesh haunted us for the rest of the night - trapped between the sumpguard and the exhaust manifold - and was NOT pleasant...
