Hi guys,
Sods law, I buy something to potter about in for a bit and something I've been after for a while comes up for sale
Anyway, onto the car.
As the title says, it is a Mk3 VW Golf GTI 16v five door, finished in metallic silver. Bodywork wise the Golf is in excellent condition. There is near enough zero rust on it. The only very, and I do mean very, small parts are just above the windscreen where it's just starting to bubble, like wise on the boot and on the OSR door where the drivers door has dropped slightly in the past and clipped the top of the door. I've looked under the sill covers and moved the arches slightly to look and there is no rust what so ever underneath. There is a small amount of surface rust on the top of the sill on the drivers side door, but it is just surface rust. Apart from a very slight dink on the NS wing and few marks on the doors from other cars, the panels are straight and in good condition. One door has had a scratch repaired and coloured but it is still visible if you look close. There are a few light marks where it looks like someone's keyed the car in the past, but they arn't very deep. Bar a few stonechips on the front bumper, the bumpers and plastics on the car are in great condition. I haven't had it sorted yet, but later this week it will have a new windscreen fitted as the current one has a crack in it.
Being the 16v GTI model, it has the 148bhp 1984cc ABF 16valve engine which is in very good order, having had a cambelt, service, new cat, belts and a new radiator in January. This is the best GTI I've ever driven, it really does pull like a train in every gear and doesn't faulter in the slightest. It has a scorpion backbox on it too, not really my cup of tea, but it doesn't sound too bad. It is suprisingly good at fuel consumption too, I've done 120 miles so far from putting £20 in, and I haven't been driving that slowly. The drivetrain is also in really good condition with no issues with crunchy or whining gears. Goes straight into all of the gear with no issues. Brakes are also spot on as well as the steering, which is also power assisted.
On to the interior. The interior is in good condition with no wear or sagging on the seats, even the drivers bolsters are all still firm with no material missing! It has electric front and rear windows, electric mirrors, air con, drivers side airbag and ABS. All the electrics are in good working order. The OSF window isn't working at present, but I'm waiting for a brand new uprated regualtor to arrive, so this will be fitted before the sale. The aircon also doesn't work at present, only due to it needing to be regassed. My brother is an AC fitter, so I may be able to get this done too, but for the time being, it doesn't work. There is no stereo in it either, but some 6x9's on the parcel shelf.
Finially managed to get some pictures, so here they are
Bad parts:
Top of the windscreen:
Small dink on the passanger side wing:
Small bit of laqure peal on the front passanger door piller:
Small paint scratch on the front passanger door:
Very small bubbling on boot:
Where the drivers door has clipped the rear door:
Little bit of surface rust on top of sill under drivers door:
I've been as honest as I can about the car. Even with the small problems listed/photographed above, this is still a very, very clean car.
If you have any questions, want to see some photo's of areas I haven't already photographed or you want to have a look, then give me a PM
I can tax it at the buyers expense as I am still insured on it and using it until the tax is out.
