15th September from 7pm at the Rising sunHere we go then chaps - lets try and get a local meet going Ed (10mpg) and Myself (Steve) have been chatting about getting a local Retro meet underway We've discussed a few venues and there are quite a few around us, but we have decided for the first meet to try the rising sun Pub on the A4 between Reading and Newbury Its in an easy to get too location, being about 5 miles from Junction 12 of the M4 Quite easy for anyone from Reading/Newbury and Basingstoke to get too as well It has a fairly decent size car park and being a pub we can just turn up and have a natter The location isnt fixed yet, so would be good to see how this goes for July and then again in August before deciding to move onto a different location Simple and polite requests - if your coming along, make sure you say hello and remember this is a public house so please don't be shy, pop in and puchase a beverage (non alcolholic remember) just to keept he landlord happy You cant miss either me or Ed, Ed's the hairy one, I'm the big bald one I havent asked them if its ok as I feel we may have only have a handful along for the first meet as its short notice - but I know they often have others meet here too First date Thursday 21st July - I'll aim to be from 7pm Location The Rising Sun Public HouseA4 nr Woolhampton RG7 5RH Pm me for a contact tel number if you need it Otherwise, pop along for a natter Cheers Lawsy & 10MPG aka Steve and Ed

Just to add obviously pitching up in a retro is ideal but if yours if off the road or you're in-between old cars, turn up anyway, it'd be great to meet all retro enthusiasts around here, don't feel you cant come just because right at this minute you're not in an old car..

Well the first meet went really well, considering it was raining very heavily all afternoon. 8 Retro cars, a few moderns and a good turnout Venue wasnt a bad do either, big car park, decent inside (except very warm) will definitly be eating there next month!! I think we could be onto a regular meet then, and was thinking the third thursday of each month - next one could be the 18th of August but very close to the gathering so would we prefer the 25th?? anyway - just a few pics...       the lesser spotted hairy one    Good night was had - roll on next month!! |

I'd be happy with keeping it as the third thursday of the month, which then makes it the 18th everyone ok with that?? |
