Model: Volvo V70 Torslanda 2.5 Non Turbo
Year: 1998
Mileage: 167k
Tax: July 2011
MOT: Jan 2012
Location: Manchester
Price: 400? Anything over scrap value?
Additional Information:
For sale, my beloved V70. I got this last year after my Dad used it for a bit. It's a non turbo 10 valve 5 cylinder manual petrol. It sounds lovely. No good for drifting though, it's FWD.
I love this car. It's the best car I've ever owned. I bought it with 153k on and it hasn't let me down at all. It's been in 33degree heat moving house and -15 across wales in 2feet of snow and has not yet failed me. You will not find a more comfy car for this money that's as cheap to run.
it's had the following done since I got it:
- New steering gaiters on the front
- New heater matrix
- Cambelt, aux belt, water pump, thermostat, ignition leads, fuel filter, oil filter, cabin filter, air filter (basically, a full service)
The MOT in Jan had no advisories (it initially failed on headlights pointing too high, that's it!)
Everything works apart from the rear passenger side window (which is just a switch issue, I just couldn't be bothered sorting it as I sit in the front!) so, the toys:
Part cream leather, heated front seats, electric mirrors, electric windows, dual zone heating (no air con though), Traction control, iPod stereo (with a 6 disc changer if you don't want the iPod functionality and the original Volvo stereo will be included), no leaks, the odd squeak from the boot trim and that's about it. There's no rust, the brakes are excellent and it's reasonably good on fuel considering how big it is (25-30 around town, 35 on a run, proof to follow)
There are a couple of things that aren't so good:
- Front tyres are more or less dead (the spare is okay though, and they're only 16s. It'd be about £60 for a pair)
- Tax is due this month
- The heater fan needs refurbing/replacing as it doesn't blow too much air and makes a lot of noise about doing it. I'd have done it, but couldn't find a local scrappy with one in. New they're £100
- one of the headlight washers is a bit lazy and occasionally sticks up (see pics) but it does work. The rear wiper works, but there's no water spray (you can hear the pump working though, so I presume the pipe is disconnected somewhere)
- The drivers seat is a bit worn, the leather is cracking and it's got some light staining, but it's still comfy!
- This month it has very ocassionally put out a bit of smoke. I've been running it and only noticed slight bits of smoke 3 times this month, I really don't think it's an issue (and I'd be open to anyone compression testing it to see what's up, as I've not had time to look into it). I'm more or less certain it's the PCV valve but I haven't got the time or inclination to look into it. If it is the PCV, then it's a pretty straightforward (if time consuming) job, but I haven't looked into it. It only smokes after a long time at idle (in a queue) and then only a small puff when you pull off.
It's in Manchester, but I can get it to Cheshire if it helps you out.
I've been as honest as I can, if you want any pics of anything specific or want a video of it running, just ask and I can nip out and do it.
EDIT: Just updated the MOT and Tax as they were a year out!
