Additional Information:
We are selling our Peugeot 406 Estate as we have another car. The car has been our family car for the past two years and has given faultless service during that period. We shall be sad to see her go. This is the Sri version of the 406, and is the 2.2 normally aspirated version NOT the earlier 1.8 turbo version. The 2.2 litre engine is the same one as used in the sporty 406 coupe and provides excellent performance from its 170BHP. We bought the car from the local Peugeot dealer and were the second owners from new.
The car is in very good condition overall and with a genuine 95000 miles (which is low for the year) makes a great value family load hauler. It is a used car so I'll try to be as accurate as possible with this description. If you are in any doubt about things, please do come and see the car.
The car is superbly comfortable. The half leather seats are firm and supportive with a sporty look. The boot is huge.
Good points
Good overall condition. No rust or corrosion to be seen. Paintwork is bright and shiny and a really nice blue colour.
Half leather interior with matching blue piping.
Really really fully loaded. Electric everything (all working) CD sound system, trip computer, air con
225/60/16 tyre with 16in speed line alloys in excellent condition with no dings or kerbing
Two brand new (5 days ago) front tyres
New front brakes and discs fitted 5 days ago
Long MOT
Taxed
Interior in excellent condition. No rips tear or wear on the half leather seats
Unused full size spare tyre
V5 etc is all present and correct.
Both original keys.
Remote central locking, see also bad points)
Bad Points
There is a dent on the bonnet. It's not big or deep but it's there. I've taken a picture of it. It was caused by a car park nudge with a FIAT Punto. Grrr
There's a small scratch on one of the rear doors (again pictured)
There are the usual sort of small imperfections you might find on a used 2001 car, but nothing major.
Occasionally the rev counter drops to zero. When this happens the engine goes into "get home" mode. The rev counter picks up after a few seconds and everything is fine. This is caused by a dirty or corroded sensor in the gearbox and doesn't have a real effect on the cars running or reliability. This happens at odd intervals but not often. Sometime it goes months without happening but I wouldn't want it to surprise you on the way home.
Remote central locking key is broken. The remote locking works but the button on the key is broken so a new key is needed. The remote locking system works perfectly, it's just the key as given up the ghost.
