1996 Mitsubishi Shogun GLS (UK vehicle - not an import)
2.8 Turbo Diesel
Manual
150,000 miles
Tax until end of December 2011
MOT until November 29th 2011
Cruise control, ABS, air con, electric windows, electric mirrors, electric sunroof, power steering, central locking, side steps
CD player
2WD, 4WD high, 4WD low with centre diff lock and an additional rear diff lock
7 seats that can be folded away to make pretty much a van sized boot
Tow bar and twin electrics
Great in the snow / towing / daily driving / moving large items
All tyres good tread and good brand (Bridgestone)
All brakes good and hardly worn at all (less than a quarter worn on discs and pads)
Starts first time and does not smoke either like most diesels of this age
HPI clear with proof from when I brought it and it’s only had 5 previous owners
Good solid vehicle that was owned by an elderly couple before me. Has been well looked after by both them and me. Not been off roaded or abused and this shows from the inside and outside condition.
I’ve mainly used it to go the few miles to work and back each day and to move car parts and furniture in the very large boot ! During this time ive averaged high 20's mpg but have never ventured into the money saving option of chip fat even though it can be done on these cars without modification.
In the ideal world id be selling when the snow comes but id rather have the money now as found my next car but if it does not sell ill keep it for the winter ahead !
Any inspections welcome and encouraged
The car was registered as CAT C in November 2004 due to needing a front bumper, passenger wing and a few other tiny bits from what I can tell but was repaired to a very high standard it seems.
Electric aerial mast broken so just needs a new mast. I’ve already replaced it once but the mrs snapped it off in the car wash so will be putting a new one in soon if I don’t get time they are £20 and a simple fix and come with instructions.
Scuff to the driver’s side front bumper that has been there since ive had the car but has not bothered me although ive only been quoted £60 to have it fixed.
Also the under tray rattles now and then due to a bolt being missing but I'm hoping to find one that fits correctly soon !
Other than that this is a very reliable multi purpose vehicle that will do whatever you want of it !
Looking for £1500 ono
