Model: Peugeot 306 Dturbo
Year: 1997
Mileage: 152k
Tax: August 2011
MOT: July 2012
Location: Southampton
Price: £550 ono
My bidding finger got a bit twitchy earlier in the week and I seem to have ended up with a 306 Dturbo. I had intentions of giving it to the wife, but it's not quite as tidy as the Ebay description implied so I've decided to try and sell it on. If it doesn't sell I'll probably just keep it for myself as it's a decent enough car, just not up to the wifes high standards
I bought it as an MOT failure - the previous owner had done most of the work, but had some issues with the brakes so just wanted shot of it. After doing some work on the rear brakes I put it back in for it's MOT and it flew through this afternoon, so it comes with exactly 1 years test.
So in the last few weeks it's had an oil and filter change, new rear shoes & fitting kit, a handbrake cable, 2 new wheel cylinders, a couple of front ball joints and a few other odds and sods in order to get the MOT sorted.
I've done about 80 miles in it now and it's a lovely car to drive, but unfortunately there are a few niggles, and this is why I'm selling it on because I don't fancy sorting them all out, especially when we're in no immediate need of a car (my wifes current car is returned in December, so plenty of time to find something else). I've had a good look around the car, including going through it on a ramp and I've come across the following little problems:
- Bonnet has a dent on the leading edge - nothing major but the paints flaked off.
- Drivers rear quarter has a minor dent in the lower part - you can only really see it when looking from the right angle.
- Theres a fair few paint chips all over the car
- Central locking doesn't work
- Drivers interior air vent is missing
- The CD player requires a code every time you turn the car on (but I have the code)
- It smokes a bit when you first start it in from cold - probably the age old XU problem of hardened valve seals. Soons clears though and there's no smoke after that.
- Front brakes pads wearing thin (this was an advisory on the MOT)
- No spare wheel
Nothing too major, and mostly just aesthetics to be honest. The interior is in lovely condition and it'd probably make a decent daily drive for someone. I've tried to describe the car as acurately as possible, but feel free to ask questions or come have a look at the car. Pics below:
Might consider part exs, but ideally I'd just like the cash!
