Was wandering round Asda today and thought I'd check out some toys for my sons Christmas. As he's only 18 months (and my older two are girls) I have really paid much attention to the 'older' toys for boys. They had Matchbox and Hotwheels cars for a quid - I could have spent a fortune!!! Started off with an Ambulance and a Prius but then dug deeper and found a lot cooler stuff underneath: 08 Ford F350 Ambulance 08 Toyota Prius 08 Dodge Charger Police Car (Sort of retro) 08 Dodge Challenger (again retro-ish) 70s Chevy Van VW Type 181 68 Toyota Landcruiser Pontiac GTO 71 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser (with dogs in boot!) 64 Mini Cooper S 68 Monaco Police Car Gonna go back during week for another trawl for more Retros for me... eh I mean him! ;D

I've fallen into the same trap with the hotwheels. Every time I go to Co-op my shopping gets a little sidetracked. It’s a bit like this, ‘milk, bread, cereal, '65 Impala, Frosty Jacks.’ I've taken to fabricating a little brother to explain their presence in my basket to the bemused checkout staff. ;D

I said, no, this one's mine... ;D

To get a standard A40 this low, you'd have to dig a hole to put it in

Hopefully, in the attic, I have a whole heap of the old 60s/70s Hotwheels Redline cars and a wheel shaped carry case... I have a real collection bug for old toy cars..... Glad it's not just me.

It certainly is! I'd never heard of it before but a quick google found this in the same colour: It also reminds me of much cooler version of the Wagon Queen Family Truckster

How much are these nowadays? I used to love the boxes they came in, they could move back and forward in them!

Usually around the £1 mark in Tesco's /Asda/Toys'R'Us etc and well worth collecting IMO
