The time has come for me to part company with a very old friend .
The bad bits .
Prop shaft bearings , not sure which end are vibrating a lot ( 50mph upwards )
gearbox sometimes crunches in 2nd and 4th
Oil leak at the back of engine ( I suspect the crank oil seal but without looking properly I cant confirm )
There is rust but nothing structural
fuel gauge tells lies
starter selonoid is very lazy
engine runs a little rough when cold ( settles down after a few minutes ) Smokes when rough
Sliding door track ( at the bottom ) is a bit frilly ( rust ).
It needs a good clean ( I will remove my sons sweet wrappers )
Good bits
double bed in the back that converts to an L shaped seat with storage underneath
camp cooker ( you will need a gas bottle and regulator )
Fully insulated and carpet lined ( very cosy )
lights and a fan in the back run from the leisure battery that is charged from the van
Tie down points in the back
Roller blinds on rear windows and a curtain to go around the front doors and screen .
Two comfy seats in the front
remote controll JVC cd player with four speakers
Home made awning ( you will need to suply some tie down rope and pegs )
Had all new rear brakes for last MOT including handbrake cable
No advisories on last MOT
Kingpins are very good ( been regular greased )
four good tyres
I have three roof bars but they are not fitted at the moment
It is not a registered camper but my insurance company will insure as a self build
MOT till September 2011
Tax till end of December ( Six months )
I am not certain of thew mileage ( Changed the speedo twice )
All told it is not the greatest van on the road but with a little tlc it has got lots more life
The first £ 600 to be offered to me will see it become yours .
There is loads of life left in this van and will make a cheap camper for someone
