Chapel: Cool to have to have you on board, dude! Love your e30! You got massive respect from me when it featured in RC Reader's Rides. Good call with the mileage too! My 318iS is now on 173,000 miles and still going strong! Good to have another e30 owner in the "club"!!!!!

well, she's a pretty rapid retro ride I'm doing a panel off restoration next winter and a total respray (same colour, but deeper and darker) The next plans are an engine rebuild and a turbo kit. However... I think the turbo kit might overburden the suspension... so I might redo the suspension bushings, install fresh dampers and springs and aluminum control arms with offset bushings.

I'm up to 214k miles I'm rebuilding the switchgear next Saturday when I install the flywheel and clutch. My car is getting a new fuel system tomorrow. I work for BMW and I had my oil changed there two weeks ago... and they crushed my fuel tank. So now they are replacing the fuel tank, pump, filters and lines for free. I saw retro-rides.com in the Jan 05 issue of Retro Cars. Figured it's my kinda place

it's pretty strong they hold their value pretty well though so finding a good example for cheap can get difficult. I'm the BMW specialist at www.mwerks.comI specialise in Single Cam BMWs and EARLY Twin cams.

Love the E30... that's cool. Had a bit of a result today... I've been ignoring my BMW 2002 since the beginning of Decemeber, as I thought I'd blown the engine up. I just hadn't got the heart to go near it, I was so gutted... til this morning. The 'knocking' I heard was a busted engine mount, so the engine is still sweet as! ;D I've been punching the air ever since... the only bad news is, the rocking of the engine seems to have knack'd the exhaust, as that is now blowing. Still, that's a lot cheaper to fix than the engine... A couple of pics of my baby for you... and

BMW's are a bit different aren't they...
What about the: - 2002 Turbo - 3.0 CSL - M635
All cool cars - would like any of those.

That lot are great, the old 3, 5 and 7 series are pretty nice too, although the newer 5 and 7 series are pretty awful to look at and that i-Drive system's supposed to be as dependable as a chocolate teapot.

The 2002 Turbo was one of the scariest cars I've ever driven... the turbo lag is incredible! Halfway around a wet roundabout and the turbo decides to spin up... arrrgggghhhhh!!! But fantastic fun... cool looking too. But they are dear to buy... The original M535i (1979 era) is cool as penquins pants too... my old guvnor, Andrew Noakes, had one and he managed to scare me witless around Bruntingthorpe in it! As for 2002s... check out www.bmw2002.co.uk (there are some mad modded ones on there, such as the one with the M535i engine in it - the six pot... hmmmmm ) Prices - you *can* get a bit of a sh1tter for £500 but it will need some work. I paid £1250 for mine and then spent another £500 sorting it out mechanically. Avoid really cheap Tiis as the fuel injection system can be a nightmare if neglected. My 02 Lux is very sprightly on its original single carb, plus I get more than 30mpg out of it on a run. And they are beautiful IMHO...

yeah, those E12 M535s will bit you in the ass if you aren't careful. I suggest the later E28 535i. Handsome, powerful, and built to escape the impending iron curtain of East Germany at the time in any weather. That M30 lump is good for a few million miles on the ticker. Highly suggested That M30 can make over 300bhp normally aspirated and well over 500 with a bit of boost. There's a company near me called turbochargingdynamics.com. They turbo the M20 and M30 engines. Small boost + stock ECUs make tons of power. M20s reach over 300bhp with the turbo. M30s over 400bhp and upwards of 500ft lbs with about 10psi. I'm looking to turbo my E30 after the restore. Aiming for 380bhp with a turbo and standalone injection and possibly a one-off intake manifold.

Hey all. Thought I'd sign up and say hi. Heres a few pics of my ride. She's a 1973 Mk3 Cortina, for those that didn't know. Currently a lowly 1600L With a 'bit' of a suspension drop, but I have plans for her..... Plans of the Pinto Kind! Seems a shame to change her too much tho, as she's only covered a genuine 36500 miles from new.
