So, unfortunately the time has come to sell my late grandfathers 620.
He has owned this car since the day it was new, where he bought it from Startins in Redditch. He has never spared any expense on it, I have every MOT from new and a fairly concise service history. He was an ex Austin engineer so he looked after it properly, and it was his pride any joy!
The car has covered just over 56,000 miles since new. The interior is in fantastic condition. There's a very (I do mean very) slight tear in the driver's seat, where the side meets the piping on the backrest. Apart from that, it's spot on. The A/C works perfectly, as do all the windows and electric tilt/slide sunroof. It's also got a killswitch under the seat, which I believe he installed when he first bought it. It definately works!
The car's finished in Nightfire red, and the majority is incredibly straight! There are a couple of small dents on the front, where we think he rolled it into a porch! It's purely cosmetic though. There's also a small scrape on the rear corner bumper, but I've seen much moch worse. It'd only take an hour of work to make the car pretty perfect!
Mechanicall the car is absolutely sound. Just before he stopped driving a few months ago, when he became ill, he had two brand new Yokohama tyres fitted to the rear, and the fron't are near enough brand new too. The car starts on the button, even after being sat for four months. Drives and brakes perfectly true.
The car has MOT until the end of March 2012, and tax until the end of September 2011. I really don't want to get rid of it to be honest, but unfortunately needs must. I would rather it go to someone who'll look after it, which is why it's going up on here before it goes anywhere local.
This is now up for £695, which I think it's worth, as you'd be hard pushed to find another one as good as this! Open to offers though.
