Extending the loom for a MAP sensor?

As some might know I've bought a MF2 injector driver to fuel my Sierra turbo project, anyway the loom that came with it was a bit of a mess. Once I'd cut it back to the original wiring I was left with about 10cm of loom.



So I took what I had to a local auto electrician who supplied me with 2 meters of wiring in the relevant colours. Some of the wire is a slightly larger gauge than the original wiring. So........

My issue is regarding the MAP sensor I realise that it is a sensitive piece of equipment. I'm worried about the thicker gauge wire increasing resistance and not giving a good signal.

Should I worry or am I over analysing it? I've got a multimeter, but I'm not sure which setting or reading I want to see to know that there isn't too much resistance?

Thicker wire has a lower resistance per meter than thinner wire, but anyways - the thickness of the wire used in this case is more for mechanical strength than electrical resistance. The extra wire will slightly increase the total resistance, but the currents involved are trivial so you're unlikely to see any difference in signal, providing the wires aren't many many meters long, or the solder joints very very poor.

Also, for sensor wires it's always best to use shielded cable, and soldering one end to an earth either on the plug or somewhere that's common between the engine and ECU.
This will reduce any electro magnetic interference that the longer leads might pick up, such as spark plugs etc.
But it will work without, depending on how sensitive the electronics are to these things

it'll be fine for the map sensor, its only the crank and knock sensors that use shielded wires.

most map sensors run with a 5v reference signal, earth and return so not exactly much load.
