It's a cool car...but I always think the 'tech' Citroens don't respond well to modifications, fantastic cars out the factory, but not much playing to do.

The DS is one of the best looking cars of all time in my opinion - I just love them! I would be a bit afraid of modding one though!

The SM had the Maserati engine didn't it?

I like long walks, especially when they're taken by people I don't like.

How cool are those cars? Like a spaceship for the road! If they were reliable, and a little better built, I'd be in love! ;D And they're already slammed!

If ever there was a car that should have a rotary in it it's this! Preferably a bizarre hybrid with like 5 rotors or something wierd like that.
Or a gas turbine ;D

A rotary eh? My favourite obscure engine of the moment is the Lada 3 rotar Wankel. It hasn't got a turbo, but it does have three rotors instead of the modern Mazda Wankel's two, and has 210bhp in standard tune. They're not all that durable, but if you're into fabricating and hybrid jobs, then maybe you could adapt/make more hardwearing rotar tips for it, I think that must be why they wear out so fast, that was the problem with the early NSU RO80, which wasn't very durable either until they changed the rotar tips. While you were at it you could get a Mazda RX7's turbo on there (the mk 2 onwards had a turbo I think) and maybe tune it a bit, good efficient exhaust etc, and you might just get well over 300bhp. This daydreaming stuff's great, isn't it? I spent all today thinking about modified Ladas. And I even got a picture! Not just a pretty face, eh? ;D

My mate rallies a Lada..come to think of it he'd fit in here nicely ;D I'll point him toward the forum!
Mazda did make a triple rotor, the 20B which was fitted in Mazda Cosmo's. They use them for drag racing in Oz and they are pretty potent. There's a fair number of Rotary cars running in the 7's with them.

I wouldn't mod a DS, they have it all standard.
The SM did have a Maserati engine, but not standard. It was a V6 basically a cut down Maserati V8. They shared developement costs and Citroen used the V6 and Maserati the V8. Being a cut down V8 it is a 90 degree V angle. The SM also had optional carbon fibre wheelrims which weighed something like 4.5 kilograms.
Citroen did make a rotary but it was based on the GS.
