Next up on the unloved register is this:
1995/6 Escort 1.8 (Zetec) petrol estate.
MOT'd April 2012.
Taxed end of September 2011.
Towbar and electrics fitted.
Had the end of the sills and one rear arch welded for last MOT, not the prettiest of jobs but seems rock solid.
Alloy wheels with two recent new rear tyres.
Power steering, central locking, original stereo etc.
Not the prettiest car in the world but drives really well and will do someone a good turn.
Known faults:
Driver's (electric) door window doesn't work.
Handbrake a bit high (cable?).
The usual age related mark etc.
I'm told the dash board illumination doesn't work, Google search seems to suggest the stalk for the lights is at fault-make your own mind up about this.
I saved it from being crushed at the eleventh hour and although I don't actually like these Escorts it's criminal to see a perfectly useable car get fragged...
Cheap family hack, use it as a van, tow car, whatever. If you're expecting miracles then go and buy a brand new car, but if you want a dirt cheap reliable runabout you cannot go wrong.
£300 or offers considered but I'll only take you seriously if you're stood in front of me with money in your hand. No 'txt tlkrs'/morons/can I pay you in Julember/collect in three months time/how much will you knock off the price because I live in downtown Mongolia merchants.
It's near Chester in Cheshire. Cash on collection only please. I might (that's might, not definately) be tempted to swap it for a motorbike or scooter but would prefer the dosh.
