HERITAGE OPEN DAY AT BARTONS PLC

An exhibition of East Midlands road transport history, not only a gallery of Barton Transport related items, but other displays belonging to Raleigh. Work is also in progress for a ‘100 years of Ford UK’ celebration with locally based firm Sandicliffe.
There will be a classic car owners’ meet during the day – plenty of space to display your classic car in a reserved central area.
The Beeston & District Local History Society are taking the opportunity to display photographs and memorabilia of Chilwell and Beeston. Bartons’ neighbours of almost 100 years, G H Hurt & Son, will also be opening(until 1.00 p.m. only) their 1781 premises to visitors. Why not pop in for a couple of hours, look at the displays and visit the Shawl Factory to see rare historic machinery in action.
Classic car owners from the local area would be particularly welcome.
