Model: Mercedes C200 Sport Tiptronic a la AMG Year: 1999 Mileage: 160k Tax: May 2012 MOT: December 2011 Selling on behalf of a friend I this is a stunning example of a C200 Sport, in black with full AMG styling. I don't have all the details of the car but it will be at my house later tonight where it will stay until sold so I will update this once I've have a good nosy round it and taken it for a spin! What I can say is that apparently there's minimal rust, drives superbly and all the electrics work fine. I'm no expert on Mercs so don't know the failings, nor in fact the good points... what I do think is that the £1000 seems like a fantastic price looking at other values without the AMG element. If you know what you're talking about, or in fact just curious, please fire away with any questions or comments... I will also get some better pictures, probably tomorrow as it will be dark when I get my hands on it. Private plate stays on the car too, and Nurburgring sticker can be removed if necessary! As far as I know it's a 2 litre 4 cylinder? Can confirm later unless someone can advise in the meantime?

Quick update... there will be a full description and many more photos tomorrow but I can honestly say this car is absolutely spot on!
Drives brilliantly with smooth gear changes and kick down works really well. Everything works including the four windows, electric mirrors, cold air con, cruise control, electric rear headrests etc etc.
After a quick 'in the dark' look round the only bit of rust is on the front passenger door. It has 18 inch AMG wheels and a stainless steel AMG four pipe back box (will check the rest of the system tomorrow). Also the skirts and front and rear splitters (including the back box) were all bought from and fitted by AMG themselves.
The inside has cloth sports seats and the carbon effect trim. It almost looks like new in there from what I could tell.
It also has projector front headlights (not HID though) and a full service history although it is now due a minor service. Also at the last MOT there were no advisories...
As mentioned I will update tomorrow again with pics and anything else I can found out!

My dad had a C220 Sport and then a C240 Sport. Both were this Merc W202.
The 220 was a 2.2litre 4 cylinder. The 240 a 2.4litre V6.
Anything below 2.4 was a straight 4 cylinder..

Copied from my local advert: Thanks for looking at my stunning Mercedes C200 AMG Sport... As you can see from the pictures it is in absolutely fantastic condition having been resprayed (cost £3000) in the last year. The looks just go to back up the mechanical excellence with everything working exactly as it should... the auto gearbox is smooth and the kick down performance is superb. There are no horrible clunks or rattles, the steering is precise and the brakes work well with no pulling to either side. The spec on this awesome car is: •Four speed auto transmission with sport and winter modes •Electric windows all round •Electric heated mirrors •Dual zone air conditioning (still cold when necessary) •Front and side driver and passenger airbags •Electric collapsing rear headrests •Power steering •Cruise control •Auto dimming rear view mirror •Sony CD / Radio with aux in jack •Height adjustable driver's seat •Cloth sports seats with carbon effect dash trim •Metallic black colour coded exterior •18" AMG alloys (black with polished rim) •AMG front and rear splitters and sideskirts •AMG rear boot spoiler •AMG stainless steel exhaust system •Projector front headlights with beam level adjustment and integrated fog lights The car also has an MOT until December 2011 with no advisories, TAX until May 2012 (worth a lot of money these days!) and a comprehensive service history. Also, the observant among you with notice that there is a private plate on the car that will stay on it and the retention certificate etc is also included along with all the original booklets in the original Mercedes folder. In terms of bad bits there is only one patch of rust on the entire car (on the front passenger door where water has got in behind the bump strip), only one key although a replacement can be sought from Merc if necessary, the foot (hand) brake spring on the catch (not the pedal or anything mechanical) has snapped but leaving it in 'park' is more than adequate, and it is due an oil service. The good bit are everything other than the two lines above! It's a great engine with loads of life and the car overall has been superbly mainted. In terms of fuel economy I get about 450 miles from a full tank driving sensibly so it's suprisingly economical too... All in all a fantastic family car with superb looks and a real snip given that it was over £25k new!       |

alot of car for the money !
fantastic drive if you get a nice one but a right dog to drive if you get a nasty one , this however looks the dogs plums and sounds spot on glws mate

Thanks for the comments! This one drives well although I can imagine with a knackered gearbox they would be horrid as they really like to rev when accelerating hard. Certainly feels quicker than I imagine it actually is but really smooth when you want it as well...

How does this have MOT until Dec 2012, you can MOT upto a month early but not 3? So would suggest this is mis-selling!

I'll be honest, nothing I don't think... no advisories at the last and everything still feels tight to me... oh hang on, a sidelight bulb blew last week! Other than that I can't see a lot wrong with it...
