We are moving house and no longer want the running costs of the lovely jag. It has been a fantastic car, always starts and has never let us down.
As you can see from the pics its an unusualy tidy example, the bumpers are pristine, the set of 5 alloy wheels have been refurbed and are mint , engine bay is very clean and there are no smashed fogs or bubling paint like most, perfect headlining. (paint is very very tidy too)
It still has its original radio and CD changer which has a working electric airiel. Infact everything works on this car, blower on all speeds, electric sunroof, c/locking ect ect..
We have the logbook the Jaguar handbooks and manual.
The car has had recent rear half of exhaust system (both sides) a new drive belt, also the pads and discs look good but were not changed by me.
Condition of the car is mainly let down by a worn drivers seat. I have been looking out for one on Ebay but the interior of this car is doeskin upper and lower, not like most which are magnolia 2 tone.
My Girlfreind has been driving this for about a year, and during this time it had gained faults.
We were going to fix it all this winter, if it doesnt sell this will be the plan.
I have had a lot of these and I know this is a good one but it does suffer from some common faults.
The main one is the Diff, its been whining for a long time, its quite loud I think it is the n/s/r output shaft bearing so maybe an easy fix - but assume diff just in case.
The next is vauge steering, this is the front upper wishbone bushes, an easy job is you get a gararge to press them in for you, the bushes cost £50 on ebay.
Not so urgent is the puff of smoke on start up, every XJ40 I have owned has done this to some extent, its the valve stem oil seals, its quite a major fix for a small issue and to be honest I had no intention of addressing it, as I say its just a big puff on startup nothing while driving.
Other than that its all good, it is in daily use and I'm sure it would drive anywhere.
this is a genuine S with all its perks, some ive seen for sale are xj6 with S wheels.
Priced for quick sale.
