Here we have my Astra sri for sale – I wasn’t sure whether to post it on here as it’s probably a bit too modern but nothing ventured nothing gained!
The car sailed through its last MOT requiring only a new tail lamp bulb. Since I’ve owned it I’ve replaced the centre section of the exhaust, the EGR valve & I’ve changed the oil/plugs. New tyres were fitted last year when I had the tracking checked & adjusted. It’s been extremely reliable in the two years I've owned it & has never let me down. It's not the most economical of cars & returns approx 25 – 30mpg round town, 35 - 40mpg is achievable on a run depending on how heavy your right foot is! It’s quite a fast car having the 148bhp 2.2 Ecotec engine (16 valve twin cam) which makes it an excellent & very comfortable cruiser. It's a good handler too so there's lots of fun to be had
It has drivers/passengers airbags, power steering, ABS, 5 x 16 inch alloy wheels (+ locking wheel nuts) with good tyres, cd player with steering wheel controls, air conditioning (nice & cold), cruise control, adjustable steering wheel, fog lamps, alarm/immobiliser, remote central locking etc. Everything works & is in good condition with no corrosion at all on the outside (I was under the impression that these were galvanised but don't quote me on that) & no rips/tears/worn out carpets etc on the inside. It’s a very practical car too, being able to carry 4/5 people in comfort as well as big loads when the back seats are folded - I managed to fit 7 internal doors (as well as me driving) in it once! Can't say it was very comfortable, & fortunately I didn't have to drive very far, but I was amazed that even 1 door fitted in it never mind 7!!
The car is standard with no lexus lights, body kits, power boost valves etc etc etc!
Negatives are clunky anti-roll bar links, a leaking back box - both of which I'll try & sort before the sale - & an oil leak which I haven't had time to look into more thoroughly (it's not too bad as it doesn't leave oily patches on the drive).
It's been a fantastic daily for me & the only reason for sale is that my wife can't bear to part with her Merc 280SLK so we're going to start using her Micra as a more economical daily driver.
