Here is my 0151 Disco TD5 ES with a manual box. It`s the top spec ES with full cream leather (all 7 seats), Harmon Kardon stereo system, CD changer, electric & heated seats, 18" alloys etc etc. It`s done 115k, with a very good service history. Autologic remap to 162 BHP.
So, £3500; it`s cheap........very cheap. Where`s the catch......
It needs a new gearbox, and has no MOT. A good recon gearbox can be bought for £450, so not too bad. For the MOT its will need 5 x ball joints, bushes, ABS sensor, rear brake caliper, 2 x tyres and a few small niggles sorting like an exhaust bracket. I priced all parts required for the MOT, and it came to £400. It`ll also need front and rear N/S indicator lenses and a drivers window regulator.
Apart from this, it`s in great condition, with only a very minor scuff on the front bumper.
With the gearbox sorted and an MOT, these fetch between 5-6k with this spec. If anyone can do the work themselves, they`ll get a great motor.
I don`t have the need for it any longer, and don`t have the skills to repair it myself. Neither do I have the inclination to pay someone else to do it. It`ll break for 5k+ quite easily, but this would be a shame. However, If I don`t get close to £3500 for it, this is what I`ll do.
