hi,
you might wanna tell your friend the price is somewhat optimistic.
the 535 is the poor relation to a 540 it has the same sort of mpg, similar insurance costs, identical servicing etc - but inferior performance.
e39 540 prices start under £1000 odd these days, and £2k buys a really tidy example of a similar age to this one. 535 prices are usually less than equivalent 540's
sorry to be so blunt (and if it was your car then i wouldnt have been quite so harsh) but its better to be told than waste time (well imo it is anyways)

We sold a 535i earlier in the year, lovely car, but even with a full audio system only saw 1700 on it, and ar5e has fallen even further out of them since. Looks a good one, but he will be keeping hold of it for a while to get near his price.
Sorry.

I'm pretty sure that the seller (or rather, seller's friend in this case) isn't asking for advice. The price is clearly displayed, interested parties are welcome to buy it or make polite, educated offers.
Otherwise, please don't bother posting.

Strong money but a nice looking E39.
Good luck with the sale.
Is it 9.5 or 10" wheels on the back?
