Hi everyone,
I know I've only just landed here, but I thought that I would post this thread to get some interest in the United Devices project.
UD is a project that matches cancer drugs to cancer cell molecules and works as set out below. I've lost a lot of people around me to cancer, including my partner, and so I'm running this to help with research by using my PC. It works as set out below
I imagine that some of you run SETI and this program works along the same lines.
Essentially, it downloads a chunk of data and runs processes while your PC is idle to match drug molecules to cancer cells, with the intention of making more effective drugs with fewer side effects (or so I understand - I'm very tired at the moment so can't quite take all of the information in).
Like SETI, its anonymous and safe.
If you would consider running this, then I would be most grateful. It is of more benefit to humanity than the SETI project. And, if you approve of it, I would be grateful if you could post the following link up on any other boards that you may use around the internet, basically just publicise its existance.
Thank you very much

I also have established a team - www.grid.org/services/teams/team.htm?id=FB445FF0-06B7-49A6-A1D6-706987605C09
Please do join up...
IMPORTANT NOTICE
DO NOT INSTALL THIS ON A WORK PC WITHOUT CHECKING WITH YOUR IT TEAM, IN SOME CASES IT IS CONSIDERED THEFT OF COMPUTING RESOURCES AND IS A DISMISSABLE OFFENCE
Also, the program units a small pox vaccine routine as standard. I, and many others, have this turned off so that we ONLY crunch the cancer stuff.
To turn it off, log into the United Devices page with your user name
Click on "My Device Manager"
Click on "Profiles"
Click on whichever profile you want to edit (all my devices are set to "Default")
Down the bottom of the screen there are 2 tick boxes - one for UD Cancer Research Project and one for "PatriotGrid running the Smallpox Research Grid Project".
If you wish NOT to run the smallpox project, ensure that the box is NOT ticked, then click save.
