There hasn't been a regular monthly RR meet in the West Midlands for ages. Following the demise of the Breakfast Club at RAF Cosford (which runs for the final time on Sunday December 11th), I figured it was about time that changed.
I've deliberately pitched the date late in the month so's there's no clash between this and the well-established and popular FUCEM meets at The Limes. That gives those who feel inclined the opportunity to do both meets if they so desire.
The Hollies is situated on the A5, just a mile east of Junction 12 of the M6. It's a proper Transport Cafe that's been open now for over fifty years.
Pic taken in April 2007 at the first event I ever organised..
We stopped off at The Hollies as part of the Dawn Drive day back in September, and it was the first time I'd been back there since it changed hands a couple of years ago. The place is now immaculate and the food is top-notch, as those who partook in a fry-up last time will testify.
There's an extensive menu catering for all tastes, and the food's reasonably priced. A full-on monster like the one above will set you back just 5.5 of your Earth Pounds, and will set you up for the day.
A great opportunity to blow those post-Christmas cobwebs off your ride and spend a few hours bench-racing, drinking coffee and shovelling greasy fried scram down your neck. What more could you POSSIBLY want? ;D
The inaugural RetroBreakfast will be from 10am onwards on SUNDAY JANUARY 29TH 2012.......and every last Sunday thereafter.
Hopefully see you there!
