I've not long had this, and it's bloomin' ace! Sadly, it needs some work, but not as much as another two of my cars, so I need to sell it to raise some much needed funds!
It's a Rover 75 Connoisseur SE CDT Tourer with manual transmission. That means 49mpg, electric and heated leather seats, digital climate control (needs re-gassing but otherwise works 100%), fuel-burning heater to help it warm up on really cold days, on-board computer and remote central locking with two keys.
The overall condition is excellent, especially the interior. It shrugs off its 176k mileage very easily, bar some marks to the steering wheel. Outside, it's had a minor bump to the rear, causing some damage to the bumper (rear parking sensors still work though) and lower edge of the tailgate. Someone's attacked it with filler, but a lick of paint wouldn't hurt.
There's very limited service history, but these engines have a timing chain (silent!) so no worries. It had a service some time last year and hasn't done many miles since. That service included all filters, including the pollen filter. It shows all the signs of being well cared for when it was clocking up the miles.
Downsides? Well, yes. There are a few, which is why it's so cheap for this spec. The brake discs up front need replacing as there's a judder and third gear synchromesh is a bit iffy. I double-declutch my way around it but really, it's going to need a gearbox at some point. These seem to be anywhere between £75 and £300.
I'll have to check but I think the MOT is May and tax March 2012. The other side of winter anyway! I'll certainly miss those heated seats...
P/ex possible for the right car, but nothing worth more than £400 as I need cash!
