It's the dizzy from a h&h ignition kit. Comes with everything to run the xe on carbs. I might be willing to sell within the next few weeks, I need to decide whether I can afford another set of twin 40s first.

big fan of H+H, but the bones of it is is essentially a re-packaged 1.6 mk2 cavalier unit.

Very true, but a shiny new cav 1.6 one nonetheless.

Few setbacks with this. My passenger side driveshaft was pretty fubar'd, as we're my hubs. Found replacements for both but they're both still on route.
It does run but not for long - my inline fuel pump has seen better days and the new one needs a new banjo bolt. It's getting there , just slowly.

Frustrating day. Got to the car planing on getting it running and ready for an MOT next week. We've re-housed the battery to the boot so before we set about running wires and a fuse to that, we chucked some oil in the engine. 20 minutes later we noticed it was curse word out and closer inspection revealed it to be coming from the head gasket. Now it's a brand new gasket on a freshly skimmed head that's in good nick, so there's no reason for it to fail. We stripped it down to find that the gasket was nicked, so no wonder it was leaking oil with gusto really. To top off an annoying day we found out the RS Turbo fuel pump I was planning on using is leaky too. Bah. Looking sorry for itself last night. On the plus side I've got a new gasket on order, I might've tracked down anothe fuel pump and it doesn't need too much for an MOT now. The gathering is a mere three weeks away now though...

Hello everyone, my Mk2 is booked in for an MOT on Friday morning and I've only just found out I'm missing the rubber bush that helps connect the alternator to the block. Does anyone have one spare they'd be willing to post to an address in Doncaster for me? It's late in the day I know, but I'm more than happy to cover a speedy delivery charge.
