Injection conversion possible? LPG

hello members! I m John from Greece and I would like to know if its easy and possible to convert my mk5 Corrina to injection from a sierra 86.
basically I would like to do it cause recently I had my Corty converted to LPG and my cars performance has dropped a lot and I thing injection with LPG is going to work better than the carburetor one.
my current engine is a pinto 2.0 taken from another sierra also.
any idea would be usefull and appreciated! also if anyone has experience from LPG powered cars would be great to hear from him for any common issues or tips and tweaks.

So your asking if sequentially. lpg would be better than a single ventury setup?

My granny coupe is lpg only, and i have zero loss in power, to me it sounds like your vapourizer wants set, your power valve adjusted, or maybe a larger mixer,

And remember the better the vaporizer is set to the airfilter, the better the mpg

Also, need to ask? How are you likeing the over steer your getting from the offset of those fwd wheels?

Sorry, reread your post, yes a mixer on the throttlebody on the plenum is going to be better than a mixer on the carb, but be prepared for a lot more backfires

Aren't late cortinas pretty much FWD offsett anyway?

Mixer in front of air flow meter witha back fire valve otherside of AFM between throttle body and afm.

Mixer. in front of afm? So about 3 foot away from an intake valve? Huge WOW. expect huge back fires if its not dialed in 101%

Yes, Mk3,4,5 Cortina have same offset as FWD Fords right up to Mondeo/Focus. Putting RWD offset wheels (eg Capri) makes them steer bad. Ask me how I know...

I concur with the opinions here that you need to make your existing LPG work properly as it sounds like it is not. There will be a slight power drop but it shouldn't be noticeable.

Fitting a later Sierra injection engine isn't a bad idea as its a gain of about 15 bhp and 20 lbs torque IIRC and assuming your motor is stock

Yep cortina Mk3 onwards and the sierra use a FWD offset well it is when compaired to the Mk1/2 escort/cortina and capri no oversteer at all well no more than usuall in fact the offset affects the steering more than the rear, especialy when he's gone from 165 on 5 1/2 inch wheels to 195 on 6s there will be way more grip, i ran the same wheels for 4 years and it was way better.
The only way your going to gain power back with LPG is use a sequencial injection system IMHO, mixers allways loose you power simply because they are a restriction in the inlet, you allways loose around 10%+ with a mixer system especialy if your ignition timing is set to petrol and not perminantly advanced for LPG.

I used a granada loom which is the easyer option but all you need to do for the sierra loom is remove the enegin loom from the fuse box at the ECU relay and fuel pump relay and fuse then wire in 2 relays to reproduce the factory relays, you don't use the sierra oil or water temp wires just the power feeds to the ECU and pump, the rest of the efi loom is self contained and seperate

thank you all for the replies! whats all the buzz with my wheels? you like em or not the grip is 110% better than the standard ones....so in conclusion what should i do? i think the "new" engine I'm planning to fit might runs on unleaded?who knows for sure ? cause mine runs on the old leaded one:P on the efi guide i saw something about the unleaded codes so i think i m going to check it out..

Well I definatly stand corrected. I had a 1600l 22 years ago, and the only 14's available locally were xr3 tear drop allys that look gawd awefull, but my tina handled worse. Probably the bigger tyres were having an effect on all the knackered bushes

Oh and mixer on the granny is 78mm and the trottle body is 70mm, so no restriction on my setup

Wherr does the efi get its trigger signal from? Perhapse he could run twin ecus and run one for sequental solinoids?

Pinto EFi get it's signal friom the dizzy no fancy crank sensors ;D very basic, you can get emmulators that take a signal from the normal injectors but then the pinto runs batch fired not sequential so that wouldn't work ?
I thought an LPG mixer ran on the same princable as a carb? you choke it down to speed up the airflow to suck the fuel into the airstream?

You can choke it down with the air filter and then compensate via the vaporiser,.....were you in convoy behind my granny when i took it to st anns?
