Righto chaps ,Its been a while but I have been busy hunting and searching for the right car to go up the hill this year ,and also see some track action, and also one of those cars you can look forward to taking out for shall we say a spirited drive on a sunday but not as extreme and showy offy as the c220 ...
A load of drunken ideas were thrown around in the back of my van at the gathering last year (cheers fellas ou know who you are
) as I was desperately searching for some new inspiration kinda knowing the drift c class had to go as I had no where to keep it after the show didnt really want to sell but berennd was in the right place at the right time I guess.(hope your still happy dude !)..
So after some drunken chats the idea for a stripped out slk came into play , however when do you ever find what your looking for, and with upwards of 3k for the right slk I started to look elsewhere ,,...bought this first ..
which going by the adverts was a fake brabus c280 sport auto , I only bought it as I liked the wheels and kit ,(more on these later) also mint black leather and I needed the gearbox for my sl yadayadayadya,,
However on returning to work a few emails later it was found to be the real deal, had some fruity cams , chip box and a few other treats not long after leaving the factory...but tbh the body was well a little too far gone as benzboy will verify ...and auto is not really an option
This is when I found the car you see here .... 1996 mercedes c280 manual , my favourite spec !!, in my favourite colour ,,,white !!...was previously on the autotrader for £1995.......i made a phonecall as I spotted it for the first time at £1495 , a quick phonecall and the seller told me it was a minter , I explained I'm in the motor trade , don't need a warranty , you will not see me again ,i I really don't want it valeted, so I made the offer of £1200 which was accepted .
However I had to sell the brabus lump to fund the purchase , but I kept most of the stuff I wanted , and kinda thought a high miler brabus cant be much better than a low miler stocker ..the reason for the price......
44k genuine miles .....so took my last afternoon of holiday in november and popped over to essex with money in hand !!
