Spotted : x-flow & Lancia Twink for rebuild ?

Not sure where to put this or even if it's worth posting but here goes

Called past my local workshop today and noticed they had a couple of interesting retro engine blocks in their scrap pile
They also mentioned they are soon moving to new premises
By my thinking, now might be a good time to see if they are selling scrap blocks cheap ;D
I asked about them in passing & got a very non-committal "every thing's for sale at a price".
As these are scrap metal, I'd think about offering scrap weight prices

1. Ford x-flow, bare block with crank & main-caps in place, rusting on bigends, bores exposed so will be rusted.
2. Lancia Twincam, looks complete bar flywheel, front pulley, carb, exhaust manifold Siezed
3. Lancia Twincam bare block with waterpump fitted.

All are outside exposed to the elements, their mechanic recently fitted a 2.0 Lancia into his project so I'm guessing the blocks on the scrap pile are same

Questions.
Are motors in this state savable / put-back-into-service-able or just crusher fodder ?
If I DIY rebuild the Lancia, any ideas of cost for parts (crank shells? gasket set? pistons??)? Going rate for it when running??
Anybody around County Durham looking for a x-flow or Twink to rebuild?

I'm putting this out for comments or suggestions so any input welcome ;D

The Lancia lump is the same as the Fiat twin cam. They used to be popular in Minors (there was a conversion kit).
AFAIK after reading various forums a few years ago when I had a Minor the engine parts are getting scarce and thus can be expensive compared to the wider choice of far better engines now available.

if the bores are reasonable, it can be rebuilt

fiat twin cams are a popular rebuild too

The lancia version is not quite the same as the fiat one,i have a mate that has a 2.0 fiat twin cam and box with a fitting kit for a minor if anybody is looking for one.
