Hi guys. I'm selling my 1984 Vauxhall Chevette 4 door Saloon. Both the MOT and Tax ran out in january and is currently SORN. The car was my everyday drive (with the zetec in) until then.
So far the standard 1256cc chevette engine has been changed for a 2.0 16v Zetec with a custom inlet manifold, custom engine mounts, alloy mk1 escort radiator. The engine is coupled up to a Ford Type E gearbox whic...h is the 4 speed version of the Type 9. Also has a custom prop linking the gearbox to the standard chevette axle. It is said that the standard axle is only good to handle 100bhp but so far has stood up extremely well to having 160bhp of zetec running through it. Please bear in mind this car is extremely lively in the wet!
The shell is extremely clean for a 27 year old car but it is not concours condition and has some surface rust on the front panel . There are no rust holes what so ever and has all original panels and paint. The only addition is the Superlight alloys which I think set the car off well.
Please bear in mind it needs a few bits to finish totally. These are: to wire up the current dials in the dash, I havent done this as I was planning on fitting a digi-dash. Also there is an intermittant electrical fault causing the car to run rough. The diagnostic ports are still on the engine wiring loom so may throw up some fault codes if connected to a scanner or similar diagnostic device. Will also need a new exhaust as the current one is blowing quite badly.
pictures are here (car was dirty when I took these :S) : imageshack.us/g/546/shuvvit.jpg/
I am selling this extremely cheap for what it is as I need it gone ASAP. I want £1200 no offers!
I am based in littlehampton, west sussex. Please contact me on here via message or email me: xr2turboboy2@hotmail.co.uk
