VW MK1 Golf to Jetta Speedo/Rev counter swap

Hi all, i want to swap the dash clocks in my MK1 Jetta (speedo and analogue clock) for a set from a golf (speedo/rev counter/digital clock) so as to gain a rev counter. Reckon i'll need the non MFA type as i think the MFA mpg, average speed etc readings comes from the ECU and mine is a carb. Anyone know if it is a straight swap or if its possible at all? Tried a few VW forums with no luck...

doesnt matter if mfa clocks or not, same plug just mfa wont work. u may have to ad a wire for the rev counter from the coil depending on the age of the car.

Spot on ... last time I did the swop in my caddy the rev counter worked and all was good

I did this also in a Golf Driver - the only bit I had to modify was 2 extra wires to get the MFA working
