If it's questioned as to whether it is retro it is n... A cult classic for sure! Nice idea the RS1800 .

i beleive we have encounterd this part of the conversation before ;D RS1800 is destined to be a classic and at 22 years old i spose it has to be retro in the time sence of things ?

When I bought my MGB (a T plate) that was considered a classic when it was 23 years old. I guess we are all getting on a bit now .

I guess this answer applies most times this question is asked: Are you into retro cars and cars modified in a retro style? If so, whatever car you've got, it's retro when you do your thing to it. Some cars aren't retro unless they're done in a retro style. For instance: Mk5 Golf: Not retro. This Mk5 Golf (if it was real): Retro. Unmodified Mk3 Fiesta: Borderline retro on age grounds. 'Tuning' modified Fiesta: No Thank you. This Fiesta: Retro. It ain't what you do, it's the way that you do it.

My work scrapped their mk.3 yesterday. It was on an N plate and managed 560,000 miles on the original 1.8 diesel engine! Sadly the rust has gotten to the rear floorpan and suspension mounts so it's uneconomical to repair.
Was never really a fan of the mk.3 - the mk.2 looks nicer and the mk.4 is far better to drive

That's why the Mk 3.5 and Fiesta Si exist. Mk 4 handling, no horrid guppy face.
I like the Mk 5, but the Mk 3 dashboard is SO much nicer. The XR2i I had way back when totally convinced me that the Mk 3 Fiesta was a much better car than I'd ever given it credit for when new.

I thought the Hacker Maroc worth a mention. It's a kitcar.... well, a chopped and re-panelled Mk3 produced by Dutton. Long before BIVA of course. They never really looked that good, but this one looks alright, keeping more of the original Fiesta panels.
