This fathers day weekend sees the first Fathers Day Retro Motor Meet take place at Wombleton in north Yorkshire. It is open to any pre 1990 cars and motorbikes but anyone can attend. It opens on sat 16th june at lunch time then there will be a route marked out over the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors, bbq, bar and live music at night with camping. Then its coffee and bacon sandwiches with an informal show on Sunday (fathers day) morning before it wraps up at lunchtime to allow people to go off and do other fathers day type things. This is our first attempt at this and its only quite small so i personally wouldn't advise driving hours to get here expecting to find a santa pod style jamboree but if you live relatively close and fancy meeting up with some more retro wheel nuts then we would love to see you. Full details available at www.retromotomeet.co.ukor email info@retromotormeet.co.uk Thanks ash PS i've been on a few websites advertising our event, and i'll definately be coming back to this one its awesome. I can't believe i haven't found it till now!?!?!

We fully understand that Harewood is a great event and it is the same weekend, but ours is pretty different really, we are aiming more for a small but chilled out event that includes a drive out on some very nice roads, rather than the huge spectacle that is Harewood. From talking to quite a few people Harewood yes is very good, but there is a lot of queuing and waiting involved. and you tend to be in for the whole day. Where our event starts Saturday lunchtime and will wrap up Sunday lunch time to allow people to do other things be that go home for Sunday lunch with family or take a drive to the coast etc, or you can just come Saturday or Sunday.

Postponed due to the weather and a water logged field. Sorry to those who were planning on coming but it really is a no goer! thanks for your support though.

I saw this in the local paper and was going to come along on Sunday with my Mk1 Golf as I live close by. I did imagine the sports field would be trashed if it's still soggy after this terrential downpour we've just had so I'm not really suprised about the postponement! I'll be up for the next one though. What shall I keep an eye on for details of the next meet? Retromotormeet.co.uk?
