Hello retro riders!
I own this 1.3L BEAST since last summer.
I found this car sitting outside a barn for about 2 years because the owner died (he was old). Next day I bought it from his wife and towed it home.
We had a stop at the mechanic to put everything together to start the engine.
When I got the car , I got this piece of old bike for free. Someday i`m going to restore that too .
after a good wash and ghetto paint on the rims (no sanding, no rust cleaning)- I am going to change the rims in short time
Found some ford RS rims but I didn`t like them. I needed something oldschool.
Goodies
found some taillights at a local shop for about 2.5E a piece.
some polish job on the new taillights and a new (used) mk2 front grille.
Then the strip dooooown!
After that I found some rims.
They are 14x6 Porsche 924 rims 4x108.
after some serious polish they look like this: This was a hard job because of the rough surface. I am going to paint the rest gloss black to look like porsche fuchs, lemmerz, etc (with 4 polished spokes and 4 black spokes).
New number plates. SV is from our county- Suceava
More polish work on the signals.- After and before
The rims will look like this on the car, but with fat tires for a muscle car look
New bolts for the wheels:
new front pannel ( I don`t know how it`s called)
Some holes in the body
New mk3 front wings to be modified to fit the mk2 signals.
Done, they now fit! they now need to be filled and smoothened.
and the new tyres- 215/60 r14
They do fit, but it looks like the rim is a lot smaller. The tyre is above the rim, that`s why it looks like this.
And that`s all for today. In a couple of hours we will turn it over to find what is hiding there!
Thanks for watching. If you have any questions I hope I can answer because I am not a good mechanic :P.
