I folded the bottom, front and back out of one piece, then added the sides, then made the 3inch ring and pieced the join between em, all migged, I do have a cracking mig though, my uncles a welder and he sorted me a murex... Lots off fiddly little bits of steel and lots of grinding, I've not ground it flush flush, just smoothish I'll wander over

What could I use the shield it? There's 5mm clearance max, would that shiny alu tape do it? yep, that's what I'd use, it's very sticky so won't come off, can't wait to see this at the gathering.

Just a thought, and probably a bit unwelcome after the work you have put in so far but....
What about mounting the intercooler on the bulkhead, next to the heater box and then ducting air into it through the inner wing? Seems, well from my keyboard engineer view, that there is enough room and it will take it away from the heat soak of the engine and the rad air.
But then again what do I know about pint size turbo engine requirements!
What ever, this is an epic build and is tempting me away from my beloved V8's to do something Kei powered and mental.
Looking forward to more video, keep up the good work.
P.

Hi Paul,
Its a fair point, its only really where it is as there's no room up front, to move it against the bulkhead will cost me ££££ in silicone and pipework, money I don't have (i'll have you know this cars cost me about £700 so far!!! (i'm tight) )
I figure - and I really know very little about turbos - the stock intercooler was pathetic, the new one is prob 4 times the core size, I can only hope that heat soak wont really present itself unless i'm stuck in traffic, in which case, i'm stuck in traffic so wont be speeding off anyways.
I might add some bonnet louvres at some point as long as they're subtle?

well thats why they were nicknamed interwarmers on imprezza/celica etc. in those cases, as far as i could oberve, air was travelling towards the engine, whereas you have done the reverse (although irrelevant i guess as your source is not the bonnet)

See now i feel bad, and there was me thinking it was to rag the wagon up the hill Fingers crossed it arrive sharpish, as a bonus its real easy to fit, wont take more than an hour to remove and refit. Then i can actually start driving her around
