As I'm already starting to think about what to take (excited!), I thought it may be useful to start a thread for people to post up all those little things that make camping so much easier if remembered! I'll start with Headlight / torch (handy when you put beer down in the dark) Mug/Tankard/Cup or something for sharing of booze/coffee (kudos to Ben on FB for that one!) Earplugs if you need em. A hat (its still cold at night when you are sat polishing wheels!) Sunglasses (you never know there could be sun!) Bags for rubbish (don't give them any reason to not allow camping in the future!) Some form of seat/chair. Wetwipes (bath in a box! and nice on sunburn too) What else? Pic from Butterz 2011 (because we like pics)

BD's Top Tip: Take a bucket, fill with water once you're on site, put in the shade and hey presto! Beer cooler!
To the above I'd add my hangover cure.
Vitamin C tablets (Haliborange or similar) Paracetamol or Ibuprofen (take before you go to sleep, and again when you wake up) Fresh Orange Juice
First thing in the morning, neck a handful of Vit.C tablets, washed down with a big glass of OJ. Never failed me yet. ;D
And don't forget a toothbrush/toothpaste. It's an instant 'feel-better', there's nothing worse than waking up in the morning with a mouth full of fur and a tongue like Mother Teresa's gusset.......

Cut-bloody-lery, somehow I seem to forget the basic stuff but remember fridges, ice packs, beer and food.... Never had a hangover so no need for remedies Air bed and pillows, no point roughing it too much. Tent. (not even seen my new tent let alone tried to assemble it! All I know is that I can barely lift the bag it's in) Shower in a can (although I understand the facilities will be decent) Bog roll is perpetually handy in many scenarios. Erm. Gaffer tape with which you can fashion a rudimentary version of any object you forget to take.

Bring cash, a tent, toilet paper, black bags, breakfast and lunch.
The rest you can get on site,.. nicely cooked food in the club house, booze (if you so desire) in the club house, comfy seats in the club house, chat and good times in the club hou... EVERYWHERE.

Probably one of the main things - air out the tent. You don't want to get to the Gathering and find the tent is mouldy.
Also take a charged phone and your AA card.

Runny poo medicine. You wouldn't want to have to go home now would you?
Also bite cream and insect repellant if you attract mosquitos like I do.

I started sorting my bits today as I'm not going to get much chance during the week. From left to right.. A goosed old bicycle A suitcase that will have clean pants and whatnot in it A packet of babywipes, shamelessly stolen from my from my firstborn A box of kitchen including kettle, mug, plate, cutlery, kitchen roll, pans.. A hurricane lantern and oil to put in it My tent to store all my stuff in so I can sleep in the car in comfort Chairs Coolbox for food Homebrew BBQ

Ben, are you taking a garden shed and washing line too? All I'm taking it this.... ....its got pretty much everything I need inside! On a serious note, I've got an old cool box, pour a bag of ice cubes inside and load as much drink as you can, fill with water and heypresto cold drinks all weekend long. Every time you take a bottle or can out replace it. Mine is still providing cold Coke on sunday morning. I have a second cold box for food, freeze any meat for a BBQ and load before you leave, I tend to go for a something simple like chilli on the friday night, by BBQ time saturday the meat is defrosted and still keeping the rest of the food cold. Airbed, I have to rough it in the awning when SWMBO and miniSWMBO come camping and it gives a perfect nights sleep. Get a double then it will fill most sleeping areas of tents nicely. If you've forgotten something then head for the blue camper at the bottom of the field, chances are I have it tucked away inside!

Always remember to take a GOOD light. I've used phone's in the past, not good.
This year I have an inspection lamp that cane be charged with the fag lighter in the car, perfect! i'll also be taking a gas hob, frying pan, bacon and bread for the sunday morning. Lot's of water to keep myself hydrated

Also, wet wipes form an excellent rudimentary replacement for the usual wake-up-get-in-the-shower schedule. Invaluable when you can't be bothered to shower.
You can't beat the feeling of knowing that you've cleaned your winkle when others around you may not have cleaned theirs.

I should be finishing work at about lunchtime. Having a shower at work then coming straight down (a whopping 19 miles) so should hopefully be on site by 3pm. No tents held up with cable-ties this time, I've bought one of those Vango instant-up jobbies. ;D

Every time you take a bottle or can out replace it. Mine is still providing cold Coke on sunday morning. I freeze a couple of 2litre bottles of squash or water...they'll keep canned drinks cold in a cool bag for a couple of days...after that the bottles will provide your cold drinks on Sunday!

- An led bike light on the tent to guide your way 'home'.
- Make your morning Tea / Coffee the night before, wrap the flask in something and it will still be drinkable in the morning.
- Make the first nights evening meal in a pot that can be easily re-heated.
- Bring something to put still hot BBQ rocks into so you don't have to leave it out while they cool down.
- An empty plastic bottle (with a wide neck)! inside the tent is always useful ......
