Bit of an update,
Booked this week off a couple of months back to get some work done on the van, good choice so far with the weather!
Stocked up on some parts so i can crack on. I.e. got front springs (205 diesel ones are a perfect fit), Ferrodo pads for the Brembos, caliper bolts (others are too long for the Brembos), braided hoses for the Brembo conversion, pair of drop links.
However when it came to starting some fo the work on Tuesday i found:
- the caliper bolts are the wrong diameter so need new ones of those
- front hubs are corroded to hell so need new ones (not sore bout that as would have to drill the disc mounting bolts out anyway)
- i need new top mounts as my new shocks are metric thread not imperial (again not to worried as old ones have had it anyway)
- front drop links are 10mm too long
- track rods ends are seized to the hub so will have to cut them off when I replace the hubs.
On the upside:
- new pads are the correct ones
- 205 diesel springs are a perfect replacement for my fronts
- braided hoses intended for a 205 are a perfect fit.
So now got to source:
- top mounts
- calliper bolts - again
- drop links - again
- hubs and bearings (may just go for gti6 ones)
- full set of front bushes
- 288mm Tarox G88 discs
- rear drums/ 406 coupe rear disc set up and a load of other stuff.
