I also have to admit to failing. I have bought rivet on archs. Due to widening the front track 45mm either side, I now require wider than originally planned archs, and due to time constraints (rather spend time on fitting the new engine rather than curse word about with the bodywork) ive decided to just cheat and whack a set of rivet on archs on it. Nice, I like the B and good to see it being used I'm looking forward to photos of the arches fitted, I want to add flared arches during my MGB restoration/modification but I'm not really feeling the sebring arches.

No work on the MGB this weekend but thought some people may like to see this. Got asked to make a manifold for my mates MX5 (the one I did the clutch on a few weeks ago) and stupidly said yeah why not. Turned these - Into this - And then nearly finished the downpipe - Still got loads to do on it before its off the drive but I'm still pulling the engine out the MGB next weekend to make way for the new lump.

nice fab work with the tubby manifold there ;D But...the flange is in the wrong place and will cause hot spots for the other 3 cylinders as cylinder 2 is the only direct feed to the turbo Any pics of the arches on the B yet? ;D

If they arrive next weekend i'll try and get them on

Well, not much done to the MGB again, but the MX5 is done... and its a proper laugh. But, I did throw one of my rivet on arch's on And bought a hydro - And also drained the fuel out of it ready to drop it for ally race cell. hopefully pull the engine out next saturday and get the new lump in situ for measurements

what are you doing for front indicators, out of interest? Don't you need them to remain road legal? Looking good tho, nice to be different!

Borrowed quite possibly one of the sexiest wheels off a mate... Regret it instantly, because they look absolutely nuts, and now I need to buy them.

I have to say that the Rotas looked spot on that car . It is certainly a great way to go about styling an MGB. Only thing I wish to ask is, regarding the rear arch section, what do you plan to do about replacing the strength of the inner and outer arches once they are removed for the addition of JDM arches?

Making new tubs as the current ones are janky, and seeing as the final intention is 4 link w/ coilovers, need to have decent tubs, and they will be welded to the outer arch.

Finally got somewhere today, pulled the engine out - At start of play Halfway there - Oh yeah - I remember a definition "Engine Crane - A mechanical device used to test the strength of ones speedo cable" Oops - Empty bay!

Got the CA block bolted up to the gearbox and did some comparisons, looks like it'll fit beautifully, gearbox is far narrower and the shifter only sits about an inch further back with the engine sat in the "stock" location

Hows this coming on mate? Well, I got the CA in, and was measuring for prop length and jacked the back up to double check, rear spring hangers twisted and one ripped out the shell from the crash damage, found a load of hidden rot that was hiding and decided to call it a day for this shell. Its unfortunatly been stripped and scrapped, going to look for another MGB in the future to do it properly but this shell wasnt worth spending any more time on Ideally want to start with a heritage shell and put full s-body running gear under it to get proper suspension but until I get a unit sorted (and the skyline engine in the S13) then its on a backburner.
