Found a replacement pinto for the crapi instead of bothering rebuilding the basket case bottom end on mine. However this engine has come off a manual - mine's an auto. How do the two differ - does the auto have a flywheel - is my main question.
Want to know this before I get the gerabox and engine seperated on sunday.
Thanks.

The manual engine has a thick heavy flywheel, the auto has a thin steel flexplate that the torque converter bolts to. Both are interchangeable but before you try and force the two together check the spigot bearing in the end of the crank is the same diameter on both. 99% of the time it is but there are two sizes on Ford engines just to prewarn you.

another thing, tigran. the manual will have a spigot bush in the end of the crank, your auto won't have, but it may or may not have a shim of sorts to take the nose of the torque convertor ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)
