If they've been rechromed, then surely the chrome should cover the inside and hence prevent corrosion. If not, paint them with the product of your choice.

you can paint them, or brush waxoyl or similar on them, or even grease, or a combination, anything that keeps moisture out, condensation is the thing your trying to stop

Hi, Hammerite is not very good on smooth surfaces. So etch prime or as suggested on another thread Galvefroid, I didn't realise it was still available. Then prime and colour, I suggest silver then you can see any problems early and deal with them

I'd waxoyl the inside of them . POR 15 should work, but it is not the easiest stuff to work with.

I've always used it on the backs of chrome bumpers and overriders on Minis etc in the past. The waxoyl in the spray cans will also be good. Just be sure to put it in a bucket of hot water and keep the nozzle clear.

the only good use for hammerite is in the garden, not on a car it driies nice and hard so chips really easy then water gets in and stays trapped making a great rust trap. yes por15 is hard work and not the cheap option but it works and sometimes its worth spending a bit more now.
