A good following though get the diesel if you can they're much better, sadly the 2.4 turbo wasn't a UK model I believe. Decent mpg, they grow on you and when you get used to the seating position they're very nice to drive.
As mentioned above front wishbone rubbers are a pain so polybush them, turning circle would do an Artic proud but if you get one of the better models you get things like heated seats (great in the winter weather!) and yes Black is not a good colour.....

All I can add is that I've owned mine for 7 years, and the only problem I've had was an issue with the ABS and traction control (they are linked), that cost about £200 to sort, and other than that it's been problem-free.

Worst faux retro design ever in my opinion. Terrible looking things.

Be honest haters. How many years ago was it that you hated Austin Allegros? 1?, 2?, 5?, 10?
How many cars we now love had/have horrible plastic inerds, wheezy engines, questionable looks.
To think There was a time when owning a Capri had you down as a right twazzock.
Everything has its time lads.

They were never trying to mimic something from a bygone age, and doing it with cringeworthy consequences!

Fair dos AB but still reckon it'll have it's day. #TRIESTORECALLSOMETHINGRETROTHATFOLLOWEDTHESAMEPATH
IF one were to be purchased (never has/will on my part), vanning it up seems the way to go though.

they look pretty nasty, what makes it worse is the people that "mod" them, tonnes of chrome, flames, makes them look like they have gone thru halfords, backwards

Plenty of good & badly 'customized' examples. Actually I think they are one of the better Retro designs out there being spacious, practical and not completely debasing/ignoring the good points of their inspiration. After all 1940's American streamlined sedans would never have been renowned for their dynamic abilities. Like most things American don't forget they were fairly cheap in the States regardless of their size & image elsewhere.

what about monster truck conversion?.. Or actually use the styling to your advantage and actually make something cool out of it (I've been meaning to get better pics for years, but still haven't got around to doing so!) PT Cruiser as a Volvo Sugga anyone?

Now that looks good. I'm not a huge fan of the styling but I think this makes the most of it, wheels really suit.

1989 Peugeot 205. You know, the one that was parked in a ditch on the campsite at RRG'17... the glass is always full. but the ratio of air to water may vary.

i've always hated these... but looking though the pics posted, it seams the less tat you stick on and instead spend your money on some serious lowering and nice wheels that fit the car, then you get a decent result. i even quite like this one.... so guess if your going to do it, do it properly.

There's a truly awful one near where my daughter lives in Essex. It has been airbrushed with various Star Wars characters. I can't see how it would look good through anyone's eyes. Found it! Check the link fandomania.com/fandomestic-10-star-wars-custom-cars/ Item 2

Can't be forgetting the RR mantra, everything has potential. Sometimes you just have to think outside the box.
