Has anyone ever seen or done this? Cutting a windscreen in half straight down the middle? Perhaps taking an inch out of it?
I'm musing over the possibility of creating a split screen out of something that is not a split screen..
Cheers

Haha yeah I should ask over there.. they love a good chop!
I have read a few different accounts using angle grinders with diamond cutting discs.. Dremels with diamond cutters.. having them water jet cut etc.
Once of the most successful methods seems to be sand blasting though I'm not exactly sure how this works..
More research!

I have cut down windscreens for special vehicles, like the Airport cargo trucks you see, done some for roof chops as well, you will need a normal glass cutter and a lot of patients, you will have to get the screen laid flat on a large table with blankets so stop it moving about and getting scratches, you will need to cut from the top to the bottom without stopping, then you need to make the score that the glass cutter made run, that will be the point were you find out that you needed to listen to the (cut from top to bottom without stopping) bit, if you have done it right you will be able to chase the run from top to bottom, use some meths along the now crack to help latter and don't drink it ;D, also dip the cutter in the meths to help the wheel along, you then need to turn the screen over and repeat the above, then set fire to the meths on the screen, this will warm the laminate between the glass, you have to bend the screen gently while the meths is still alight , it will sound horrendous but keep going until either the screen cracks and you swear or a small gap appears which you will then cut with a razor safety blade, don't try and do this with anything other than a razor, Stanley blades are to thick and can brake the glass, you could always bond a fake cut rubberand chrome to the inside and out and forget all the headaches above
