Just a quick one for the organisers about the cars needing MOT's in order to do the Hill Climb. I'm looking at coming over for the Gathering this year (hopefully with a few other cars) and I'm ummming and arrring about having a go at the Climb, however reading back from last years show it says you need a valid MOT certificate in order to have a go.
Now the potential issue: We don't have MOT's over here. So despite our cars being taxed, insure and perfectly legal to drive in the UK how would we go about entering the Climb?

That brings up a good point for anyone in the UK now as I'm sure everyone is aware pre 1960 cars are no longer required to have an MOT, would anyone with a pre 1960 car have to submit it for a voluntary MOT test in order to go up the hill.

I think if the car should be street/road legal, driven on the road to Prescott.
My Dutch registered Micra went uphill during RRG11 and the Dutch doesn't have MOT (although a similar APK)

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the MOT requirement is due to part of the road back down the hill being public highway rather than a private road. As long as your car is UK road legal you're alright and if it's an all out track car you need need to make the organizers aware.

Cool, going by all the above posts it sounds like it's not a major issue then. Next issue is if I'm going to be too much of a pussy to do it....

the way we worked it last year was to ask you to bring your drivers license and MOT with you. this was to prove that you and the car were legal. If you have a race car we ask for you to inform us before the event so we can give Prescott a idea of what to expect. we will want to look over the "race" cars to make sure that your not trying to take a shed up the hill. This is purely done for safety reasons as we don't want any one crashing and getting hurt and by doing it this way we can cover not only ourselfs and Prescott but hopfully give you all as much safe track time as we can.

How do we go about booking runs on the hill?
I have a MSA log booked mod prod class 106 Rallye hillclimb car which isn't road legal and would like to use it. I competed at Prescott hillclimb last April with it.

Queue up at the booth with everyone else on Sunday morning, just make the organisers aware that the car isn't road legal before hand.

The rules regarding non-road legal cars are likely to be a little different this year, it was one of our organisational nightmares that got raised last year in post show review. Will post up details here and on the website when we have it clear

I think the queue for the hill should be ordered by the date that people joined RR
