Hi Trouble, porsche and stu ;D
Firstly porsche, i didnt say anything... but i guess that i asked a stupid/frequently asked question, but no probs!
Stu Thanks ;D its just a curse word when it keeps raining.
Trouble... well where do i begin.... I first brought the blue car as i had always wanted on since i was a kid. I decided that i wanted to get it in as good condition as i could, so i stripped it down. Due to work commitments, family and weather this has been ongoing for some years. I then realised that i missed driving the 928 alot so a beer filled night on ebay saw me with a second car( unseen)... you need two ...Right?? I then had a car to drive comfortably again on the odd journey. To be continued after Dinner!

Where abouts are you Mr Maybach?
I've had 6 928s and loved all of them :-)
If you ever need any help with anything give me a shout!
What's the plan then? Is the blue one ever going to be finished?

The white S2 does look good, and I was never all that keen previously on the pre-facelift/S4 cars.

Well 'good on ya' for posting again. I'm sure the thread lock wasn't personal.
There are a few 944 threads here, but I don't think I've seen a 928 thread. Are these gearbox at the back like the 944? I've always liked the idea of a conversion on 944 or 928, but the rear gearbox complicates things?

Gearbox is indeed at the back! 928s have perfect 50/50 weight distribution due to this.
Some US owners do American V8 conversions so it can be done although I should imagine it is complicated!

Ok Back again.... Unfortunately my dad passed away so i inherited this Which sorted out the luxury cruising Unfortunately I'm not a great picture taker but the white car had no history of a cambelt change, its the longest cambelt in a production car i think, sooooooo i stripped down the engine and changed the water pump all timing gears and stripped down to a block with heads. I also moved the blue car and replaced it with the white car and stripped all the suspension auto gearox torque tube and everything underneath and in the engine compartment.

So the basic plan now is to rebuild the white car to be a fast road car. I have currently stripped virtually everything mechanically and reconditioned every thing, Brake servo and master cylinder, top end of the engine, all new rubber air, water and fuel lines, and cleaned and balanced injectors cleaned the engine block and heads, reconditioned the front crossmember and replaced engine mounts and powersteering lines and ive reconditioned the steering rack. Most of the fittings i have de rusted and cleaned and had re plated or painted, so it all looks like new. I have removed all of the dashboard and heater including the loom and reconditioned it all and uprated the fan etc to S4 standard. Also i replaced all the spurious electrical connections behind the dash.

Excellent work, and yes, I agree - if you have one broken car that's taking longer than planned, always buy a second one and take that to bits too!

Hi Ladles and Jellyspoons!!! Zircon, its spray paint. Stu, We need to talk...you sound like my kinda guy ;D Anyway....ive rebuilt the front suspension and uprated it to a Later spec including new rubbers and Bilstein shocks and Eibach lowering springs. All ujs have been reconditioned/rebuilt or replaced. The whole front of the car has been stripped cleaned and derusted and repainted prior to reassembly.
