Inspiration for a Track/Drag car

I was flicking through some old copies of Classic Ford the other day deciding which editions to keep and which to chuck when I came across this.

I think I have just found the car I'm looking for to do that V8 job to.

Cheaper than a mk3 aswell.



Give it a nice 302 under the bonnet coupled to a T5 gearbox via a mustang bell housing (ala Will Holman) and an LSD equiped rear axle.

Though I might not bother with the sidewinder exhausts. ;D

So what do you reckon? Think it'll make a fun and noticable weapon?

Keep it totally stock outside and you'd be onto a winner,.. sleeper cars are the way forward!

That's what the plans are/where for my mk5 daily driver, though with a V6 as oposed to a thirsty V8 (daily driver!)

The trackday, drag strip 'TOY' would be a little less subtle and that mk4 above fits the bill rather well. Especialy with the new film coming out. Not that it'd be built anytime soon! ;D

why not the genaral lee's been done a few times think i've only seen that actual one done like that and that was years ago

I've seen them in mk3 guise a few times in magazines.

I think the mk4 carries the Starsky and Hutch car off better then the General.
