Excuse my ignorance and increasing obvious lack of knowledge but ive got a question for someone. Ive got a 2.0 pinto capri that ive been told i can change to electronic ignition and I'm just wodering how to actually do it. I've got a spare pinto from a sierra which ive been told has the correct distributor for electronic ignition but have been told i need to change other things too. What else do i need? I heard i may need a different coil but other than that I'm completely clueless  |

You will need the distributor, the coil and the ignition module which will be on the wing of the sierra.
There are 3 or 4 wires to this module but off the top of my head I cant remember what each ones for. One for the coil, one live and an earth I think. If no one else knows I will dig out a wiring diagram and let you know.

If it currently has the Bosch points dizzy, I've the perfect kit for you. Drops right into the Bosch housing, retains your existing rotor and cap and coil! You are getting rid of the points and condenser with my kit and installing a shutter wheel and LED trigger in their place. Cheap, easy, and Capri-specific instructions included!

get the one of the kit that fits inside the dizzy
cheap, and no other wiring/mouting boxes to worry about.
it's about a 10 min job!
btw i think the part number of the petronix one for a pinto is 1847V, and it's the same as VW's use..
