Sat I get to chill for the day and discounted tickets for Shelsley is a double win Whats the Hill like if you haven't been...... So quick is the answer and very different to Prescott Had a look from just after the start line as it was closest from where we abandoned parked the cars Then instead of up we went down (to the pits) Loved this only in England would a man build this in a shed Tyrewarming in the approach to the start Who needs handbrakes when you have a man with a rubber wedge on a wooden pole Sandwich wrap mmm rubber filling Love the concentration I did this to my track car - surprisingly effective at fooling people Bit of a sponsored event would have prefered to listen rather than look Love the pits - easy to get real close to the cars TR8 (no that's not txt spk - ok that is but you know what I mean) Quattro Quick What is it with pink badges The reason I can't find a decent K100 RS is probably down to these Puma (I forget how I found out but cossie 4 x 4 - 650 bhp - trying to remember but it escapes me) and seems to like NGK's lots of them The devil is in the detail See what I mean 6R4 - R stands for RUN Always wondered what sort of crash protection was under the front bubbles Err I guess not much!!! Patina by the bucket load - ex rally car That's all for starters time for bed said Zebedee

Toilets due for refurbishment - really!!!! Still more likely to be done before Haynes build a proper toilet block and showers........ Gillian waited a bloody long time before holding her nose and heading in........... When you are talking 24 secs from start to finish and speeds thro the middle trap and end trap in excess of 120 mph you begin to appreciate the quick bit!!! Don't be out too late - we need you at Prescott tommorrow chap Just a "sunny afternoon" Seeing as I failed to identify a car elswhere on here - tell me what this is Mmmm too orangy for crows Elan tried hard to cock a wheel Damn to fast for me Coffee - white and no sugar please and none of that stupid Latte capufroppachino rubbish just coffee - it's ok cos that's pretty much all you can get anyway Variety comes in all sizes Finish line in sight Paul I'm never that funny so what did I do or miss??? Maybe more tommorrow............

'Tis not a 6R4, but a DAM 4100. Basically like a 6R4 but better, with the more aerodynamic Rover 100 based panels.

Also the Red car with the gold stripe? It's a Murtaya - see here; www.murtayasportscars.co.uk/buildoptions.htmlBased on an Impreza turbo, quite rapid i believe.... Now a question from me - a number of cars at Prescott had a vertical metal plate mounted on the front bumper (as do a few above; see the Murtaya, Midget and DAM 4100). What is it for?

It's for Hill Climbing, breaks the timing beam.

Think they either made a SWB version that was a reclothed 6R4 or a LWB version that had 6" added to the wheelbase and supposedly made them into a proper weapon.

great photos. Nice work fella! I have to say of the 3 hours I spent wandering around the pits and poking my nose under bonnets this chap took the biscuit. Also, say what you like but Astons are lovely.

OK last ones from me Shelsley is a one way hill with no return road – they run the cars in batches of say 20 and then they all come back down the hill. Great chance to take pictures of fast cars going slowly especially if your panning skills need work like mine do That 6R4 DAMM thing Up the top of the hill was rubbish for pics last year but they seem to have had a little mow and chop most of the weeds and tall grass out of the way Bike engine cars tended to be 600 cc or 1000/1100 cc Morgan barking Another bike engine’d wasp Gas Turbine car – was fairly damn quick of the start when I saw it go earlier in the day Caterhamwesterfield - 7 “on mission” Obviously gravity isn’t enough and you need brakes TVR in reliable running shocker 914/6 – long commentary discussion about what it was and if it was a 914 converted to 916 – commentators were quite humorous all day. Proper weapon but I thought not as fast as the 3 box version Love the Front My favourite Aldi (even if it is in fashionable essex white) Nice green – no slouch When you run out of space on the rear to add more wings – then add them to the front And just for giggles I have no idea what class this was running in and I only got one picture of it all day but reminded me of the old Elf sponsored F1 cars from a long while back – count the wheels and you’ll see what I mean – it may off course have left a go-kart track near by and stumbled into the event by accident..... That’s all folks – If this event is running next year make the effort to go and see what it’s all about – discounted tickets and short distance from Prescott make it an ideal day out and a chance to see what hill climbing is all about.
