Well this morning, I went out for a walk, and beacuse i've been inspired by some of the photos and posts on here, I took my camera as well... (sorry for the size of some of the pics) Ubiquitous Bug (not mine, but very nice 1303) Retro enough I would have hoped? There's 2 of these Toyotas within 2 minutes walk of my house. I love them. Ubiquitous Ford I particularily like this pic- the pristine black weapon of a Integrale, next to the scabby cool Yugo ( I do like Yugos, mot sure why..)

Not really retro yet, but future classic. There's loads of Kia Prides on the IOW, I think mainly 'cos they are incredibly cheap. Fun to drive as well Bay window camper owned by one of the neighbours known as 'Crazy Ferret Woman' Retro 2 wheeled rides. I like the sunbeams on this one (not the Talbot kind) Miserable Mk1 Astra Incredibly cool (IMHO) Starlet. Front looks just as ratty as the back.

I love the roofline on these there's another Saab in front of the 900, and another in the Garage too. This is a Bi-plane, honest. Sounded fantastic as well. If anyone is wondering- well it's retro isnt it? Anyone recognise what this one is? Immaculate Rover

last one... Not really retro, but a bit of an oddity. Looks like a Mazda 323 to me, but is badged Sao Penza (or Penza Sao). Anyone heard of them before? I should have mentioned before- the cars with DL in their number plate are IOW registered. If you know of any classics with a DL numberplate, let me know 'cos I know someone interested in bringing back as many classic IOW cars as possible to the Island.

THe Sao Penza was made in South Africa, based heavily on the Mazda 323, as a kind of budget alternative made out of CKD kits, but to be honest, it was quite dear, and built like a house of cards, so you were better off with a secondhand 323 if you really wanted one.

That's some neighbourhood by the way, I don't see that many old cars in Greenock in a week, and you see that lot on a sunday morning! I'm well jealous!

Good stuff! I'll have to do the same round here!
Those AE86 Corollas are fantastic... And there are TWO round your way! I'm jealous...
Not got a clue what the blue thing is! It looks vaguely japanese though so maybe RatDat might have a clue?

REV- thanks for the info on the Sao.
As for the neighbourhood, yeah, it's pretty good on the retro front. The whole Island has a decent % of retro to modern (lots of old people + lots of misers= lots of older cars).
Darren- To be honest, I felt a bit daft at first wandering round taking photos, but then got into it a bit more. I'm planning on taking my camera everywhere with me from now on. There's loads of interesting cars around, and i always think i must get a pic of that one day. As for the blue thing, On the driveway with is was the nissan van you can just see, and a G reg mini. It didnt look japanesey to me, more British to be honest, although i could be completely wrong...

The blue car looks like a Reliant Rebel to me....
|
|
... the only injury I sustained was a bumped head when I let the seatbelt of without realizing the car was upside down and that's not really the car's fault.

Anyone recognise what this one is? Reliant Rebel, without a shadow of a doubt..... For more on Reliant Rebels, see www.defiantreliant.co.uk ( Oh my god, I've just realised it's 2.35 am and I'm scouring the interweb for pictures of Reliants....how f**king sad am I? )
