supercharged 205 1.9 gti

here's my 1990 phase 1.5 205 gti , quick list of spec as follows
engine: eaton supercharged 1.9 8v dta management 187bhp 182ft/lb torque
brakes: front gti6 ebc disks yellow stuff pads
body: plated sunroof , phase 2 lights
interior: stripped out , 6 point cage cobra seats , 4 point harnesses , aem boost gauge , aem wideband gauge / controller , shiftlight , launch control
it currently has odd wheels as last week someone broke in and stole my set of green track wheels with toyo r888's and 2 white wheels from off the back of the car

ive had to use a diesel gearbox because the increase in torque but it still takes off quick enough

Great little motors these! I helped a friend restore his 1.9 Gti a few year back..

These cars just want to be driven fast all the time! Lots of fun and holding there money well these days too.

tbh its not been out much as ive been building it while recovering from an accident I had 2 years back which needed 3 operations on my foot, once ive got all the physio out the way I'm hoping to get to a few local meets with it

I'm building a 205 5 door it was a 1.6 auto till i blew it up and wanna do a gti conversion any advice on what engine i should use i wanna use a gti engine ,any pointers on tuning advice for it i wanna tune the stock engine but got no clue how to as its my first full car build , andd about the diesel gear box if i use a 1.9 gti engine what diesel gearbox did you use? is it 205 diesel box and does it bolt straight on ? as i want the torque to power balance

you really do not want a diesel box on a naturally aspirated 1.9 gti motor, you want a 1.6 or 1.9, or an MI16 or xsara vts gearbox, anything else will be far too long geared.

as for tuning, you can stick a mild cam in there, 4 branch manifolds, but from there on you are massively restricted by the standard management, throwing bigger injectors is not the way forward before you go looking on ebay! a mappable ecu as used by the O.P is the way to go.

you need more compression, its only 9.6-1 on the highest comp 1.9 8v.

Diesel gearbox is in no way stronger than any other BE3 box.
