a few weeks ago I was contacted via flicka by one of the volunteers at crich (the volunteers don't have any way of making direct contact with people who book tickets for clubs etc) regarding the future of the special events held at the village. i now have some more information regarding the show's at crich not just the ford day but all the special events that are held there during the summer are in danger of not being held again. basicly crich has a new general manager who wants next year to have a 100 years of the tram theme running all year and have no special events this may well then continue beyond next year. at the moment most of the volunteers have walked out as he wants them to have no active part in in the running of the tram village next year. he's also fallen out of favour with some of the board members and it's them who employ him ?? what the volunteers are trying to do is reach out to as many people who attend the shows as exhibitors and ask them to send an email to the general manger and cc it to a member of the board and the chairman voicing their concerns / opinions. I like the show at crich it's not huge but very relaxed and a fantastic location for photos. I for one would like to be able to visit again with the cars, as a tram only museum It holds no interest to me at all. the e-mails addresses are as follows. tony.hill@tramway.co.uk ( the general manger) Colin Heaton's clnhtn.tms@gmail.com (the chairman) malcolm.wright@tramway.co.uk (a board member and events team volunteer)
